Student Congress

March 29, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The student congress is happening March 29th, at Centralia College. It is the culminating event for the year long water quality and Chehalis river studies the students have been conducting. There will be approximately 300 students from grades 4th-8th attending this year. They are meeting to discuss their water quality results, making pledges to improve the health of the watershed and attending workshops about topics related to the watershed. At this time, the event is not open to the public

8:30 –Registration- Corbett Theatre

9:00 –Welcome, Introductions: Dana Anderson, Superintendent of ESD 113, Keynote Speaker

9:50 –“State of the Chehalis River”- Water quality data inquiry- Classrooms in Science Building (SCI)

11:10 –Informal tours of the Kiser Natural Outdoor Learning Lab (KNOLL) and campus

11:30 –Lunch in Cafeteria, Atrium, student lounge, other campus locations

12:00 –Student workshop sessions (A and A/B) Classrooms in Science Building (SCI)

1:00 –Student workshop session (B and A/B) Classrooms in Science Building (SCI)

1:50 –Congress Assessment- Corbet Theatre

The Chehalis Basin Student Congress is a program of the Chehalis Basin Education Consortium (CBEC).
 CBEC sponsors include Capital Region ESD 113, Centralia College, the City of Centralia, the USFWS, Thurston County and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife.
