A new streamflow restoration law, ESSB 6091, will require some watershed groups in Washington to update their watershed plans to included strategies and projects for off-setting the consumptive water use of new “exempt” wells.  The state’s Department of Ecology will be supporting the implementation of this law, but is looking for direction from local Planning Units.  The Chehalis Basin Partnership is discussing the new law and how it might involve the group.  Stay tuned for more details.
